      Sentenced to 5.5 years.

      Taking into account remission and time already spent in custody, he will be out of prison in around 2-3 years.

      He was originally going to be put on trial for murder (which carries a mandatory life sentence). And that was downgraded to manslaughter because he pleaded guilty. Then the judge took even more time off the (already low) manslaughter sentence because of the guilty plea. It always boggles me why they do that. This one has to take the biscuit for lenient sentences.

      There should be a law for any cunt who is smiling at cameras after a crime like this gets their sentence quadrupled.

      Justice is a joke in Ireland . 2nd degree murder needs to be the chargeable offense.

      Sentence seems light bit tbf if you read the article it says the victim followed them to another pub after the initial row and yer man apparantly tried to “act as a peacemaker” 4 times.

      Not excusing anything, a kick to the head is scum behaviour but I can see why they dropped the murder charges.

      It seems “dry and removed” because it IS. The mitigating circumstances are out of control here. I understand judges have to take them into consideration, but that needs to change. A guilty plea should carry no more weight than 3-6 months off a sentence. “Good work history” should carry zero weight.

      10-15 years is appropriate here.

      The main reason he got a small sentence seems to be that Danca, had tried to “act as peacemaker” between his equally cowardly buddy & the poor victim (Neno Dolmajian). That was before he launched the fatal kick to the defenceless man.
      So his defence argued there was no forethought for these two morons, just typical scumbag behaviour with a shocking outcome. Very sad for the family & friends and a sad reflection on Ireland

      Obviously the 5 and a half years for killing someone is ridiculous. But how does this even make any sense? The appropriate punishment is 12 months in prison but given he’s already served 4 months the rest doesnt matter ? The fuck kind of logic is that?

      So 2/3 of his sentence is suspended. JFC

      I thought the two were meant to stand trial? Anyways a 5 1/2 year sentence for what he did is not enough. And the other fella walks free? Surely he should’ve gotten the 5 1/2 years and the other fella at least 8!

      Law in Ireland is just scary, how anarchy isn’t a thing here is just miracle.
