I’ve been using sim.de, which is the same provider under a different name, for over 7 years now and haven’t had a single problem. It’s not them being cheap, but others being expensive. People still pay for stuff like Vodafone for some odd reason.

      The catch is O2.

Works well in larger cities, outside you might want to have another means of communication.

Be aware of their “**Datenautomatik:** Nach Verbrauch des monatlichen Inklusiv-Volumens wird automatisch bis zu 3 x pro Monat 200 MB zusätzliches Datenvolumen für jeweils nur 2 € aufgebucht. Die Datenautomatik ist deaktivierbar.”

If you use more than the Data you have booked it automatically ads 200 MB for 2€. And this can happen 3 times. So you would pay the same for 25 GB as of the next 0.6 GB! You can deactivate it. Just an FYI.

      I suggest the 40GB for 7,99€.

Also another common catch is that the price will be for 24 months, on month 25 it will go back to the original price and they hope you won’t notice

    5. The prices got so cheap just recently. I have something similar for me from freenet and my wife from Lebara. The catch is, that we are not really used to using this much data with our cell phones and so we do not use more than 10% of the data that we would have.

    6. [handyvertrag.de](http://handyvertrag.de) is one of the many Drillisch resellers. I’m on sim24 getting 15 GB for €4,99, right now they’re even offering 35 GB for €5.99. sim24 provides 1&1 though which is still in construction (afaik they’ll still let you roam in Vodafone’s network if there’s no 1&1 cell tower near you), but I haven’t had any problems so far. From what I can tell, [handyvertrag.de](http://handyvertrag.de) is now also in 1&1’s network.

Of course there is a catches everywhere. Just briefly went through details.

      1. It is not 25 Gb. It is 8+17Gb.

      a) 17 Gb available only for limited time, as well as price.

      b) 8 Gb is full speed. Rest will be available with limited speed.

      2. There is paid EU rouming. 12.99 € per 1 Gb (for my vodafone vertrag it is free)

      3. There is no protection against “Switzerland catch” Ones you will pay 1000€ per spotify song there. (my vodafone vertrag covers this also)

      3. Full speed is 50Mbs/30Mbs download/upload (vodafone 300Mbit/s and sometimes it helps).

So no, thanks, Id rather pay 25€ for my vodafone vertrag for 25 Gb, than going into these catchy grounds. Also meaning that in 2 years you have to switch to another provider keeping your number, which is buerocratic hell.

They get you with addons is what I’ve experienced. My package is 10gb monthly for 5 euros; but if I run out of it (rarely) then I have the option to get 10gb more for, get this, 20 euros.

They also are leasing network infrastructure from big providers so your connection might get dropped when there’s a congestion is what I assume.
