      A senior Kremlin official has warned that Russia’s navy could deploy to stop Western powers from seizing Russian vessels as part of sanctions against the country’s oil shipments and Moscow’s so-called “shadow fleet”.

      Nikolai Patrushev, a Kremlin aide with responsibility for shipping and a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, was quoted on Tuesday as saying that Russia needed to send a strong message – particularly ‌to the United Kingdom, France and Baltic states.

      Ow and good luck to the Russian navy in ‘protecting’ these shadowfleet ships from anything. The last few years they have been great at sinking, burning and fleeing, so that probably is going to work out great. /s

      Depending on how the Iran talks go, this will probably be the greatest test yet for a europe without implicit American backing having a direct confront with EU. Would be interesting to see where the non-black sea Russian fleet is

      Also, our space forces are equally impressive as Russian navy. Lol.

      I suspect the Kremlin is hinting at something else: if a couple of drones launched near airports can paralyze air traffic in major cities, imagine the effect of attacks by pirates using maritime drones on vessels flying European flags in different parts of the world.

      And yes, these pirates would, of course, conveniently ignore ships under American or Chinese flags, targeting only European shipping.

      If Europe blinks here then it is complete weakness.

      America boarded the tanker when Russians were approaching and Russia backed down. Even if Russian warships are in the area, board it anyway. Russia will always fold.
