Le autorità ucraine sono pronte a boicottare le Paralimpiadi.
Mentre gli atleti provenienti dalla nazione continueranno a gareggiare, i funzionari non parteciperanno all’evento che si svolgerà il mese prossimo in risposta agli atleti russi e bielorussi a cui è stato permesso di competere sotto le proprie bandiere.
Le nazioni avranno un totale di 10 atleti all’evento.
Ciò fa seguito alla decisione del Comitato Paralimpico Internazionale (IPC) di consentire agli atleti di competere sotto la propria bandiera.
Il ministro dello sport ucraino, Matviy Bidnyi, ha detto che nessun funzionario ucraino sarà presente alla cerimonia di apertura o a qualsiasi evento dei Giochi.
Bidnyi ha detto: "In risposta alla scandalosa decisione di lasciare che russi e bielorussi gareggiassero sotto le loro bandiere nazionali, i funzionari pubblici ucraini non parteciperanno ai Giochi Paralimpici.
"Non saremo presenti alla cerimonia di apertura. Non prenderemo parte ad altri eventi paralimpici ufficiali.
"Ringraziamo ogni funzionario del mondo libero che farà lo stesso.
"Continueremo a combattere!"

More European countries should follow. I wonder what will happen long-term with international sports though, all those organisations are at this point corrupt beyond repair.
Would have guessed that IOC being one of the most corrupt organizations on earth could be so easily bought off? lol
Is the IPC separate from the IOC? It seems off that the former can get away with this. Whatever the case, I too would boycott those spineless bastards.
The IOC are supporters of Russian terrorism.

Is Ukraine boycotting because Russia will be competing, or specifically because Russia will be competing under the Russian flag?
