Sono sufficienti 1,5 milioni di dollari (1,3 milioni di euro) per un normale INCENDIO in Bulgaria? Ho sentito che il costo della vita è aumentato parecchio. Quale sarebbe un numero di Fuoco realistico?

First time I’m hearing of this. Most pensioners live on ≈500€ per month. You’ll be fine.
В България 90% от хората не са виждали 4944$ .
Sounds about right for you to live as an upper-middle-class.
If your withdraw rate is 4% annual, that would be around 4500 euros a month. Rent plus bills in big cities would be around 1000 euros, so yes you will have a decent life in Bulgaria.
With $5k/mo you can easily pay off a house (not counting the capital) in a few years and after that forget about worrying about money ever again. Like less than 1% of Bulgarians earn more than $3k/mo, nevermind $5k
Yet another daily thread of a foreigner planning to move here and drive up housing/living costs for the locals. It’s over.
Thats enough for a normal life for a family of 3 here, even in the capital. For a single person its great.
I’m not aware of how this FIRE works.
If you have this amount in cache you can invest 50% of it in S&P 500 which with compound interest would make your monthly spending of $4944 almost free.
What I mean – let’s say you have 1.5 mil cache, invest $750k in S&P 500 which on average has 8-10% return. In 10 years your $750k would be at least $1,619,193.
Congratulations on hitting your goals. Yes this is plenty for a FIRE in Bulgaria. Cost of living is going up, same as every where else, but Bulgaria still offers a good balance compared to cheaper/more expensive countries. As long as you keep on top of your balance, and are mindful about your expenses, you can make it easy with good comfort
Yes just choose small town/ village. You can buy a pretty decent house in a village for 100-120 k EUR. Need another 20k to update it and live happily ever after. Generaly try to choose a Bulgarian village or one populated with the Turkish minority. Good luck :). With the Roma minority some problems are possible (not nessecerly thought)
With this statistic, you can live comfortably depending on what you want to do. I will put it like this, a young family (30s) with one child and no mortgage spends between 1.5 to 2.5 k euros a month if they want ot live comfortably with no limits – of course not going to the fancies of places, but you know.
It will be enough, but keep in mind that even though most Bulgarians in the comments will tell you rent and bills won’t exceed 1000EUR, Americans tend to have a different understanding of what level of housing quality and size is considered acceptable and tend to pay a lot more than that in Sofia for the most premium apartments that will match what they had in the US.
Can you please say what FIRE is? I know in the US you have 1000 terms and I would expect to see the full name or an explanation of what this abbreviation means.
With 5K USD in Bulgaria you will be fine and enjoy the upper middle class way of living. If you live in a smaller town, your buying power will be at least 30% more compared to Sofia.
No, unless you are over 70, you will end up starving!!!
Honestly depends on how you want to live and where.
You will be like top 10-20% in sofia after spending 400k euro on a apartment and a car.
5k USD salary in Bulgaria is quite high. Maybe 1-2% of people earn that.
In case you’re not treating yourself according to some middle east or mobster standards, you can. In case your spending enter in the eyesight of the wrong people, no.
