We should’ve treated the MNC tax take like a finite natural resource over the past few decades and ploughed it into long-term infrastructure projects, a sovereign wealth fund, a national home construction department, and a joined up nationwide public transport network.
What we got was a patchwork mess where private interests are massaged with public money in the hope they might tackle national issues. It’s wasteful and saddening.

Sure what could go wrong with this very sustainable model…..
And we jeopardise that by siding against the only democracy in the Middle East and with the Hamas terrorists 🤦
Sure don’t worry about it lads.
Any time you see government policy bend to multinational interests – this is why.
Our fiscal policy is enabled by our long-standing reputation of appeasement. Let’s hope the firms never decide we are redundant.
Incredible how we keep finding the most precarious economic model.
