      Someone like this should be locked in a 4by4 room for at least 25 years

      People walking around with 100 convictions and not a bother on them.

      Our justic system is a joke. No deterrent for people not to commit crimes.

      He had his charge upgraded to murder in late 2024 but seemed to have pleaded guilty last year to save a trial and the charge was reduced to one of manslaughter. Still, 5 1/2 years is incredibly lenient. People have gotten more for far less.

      People in 1000 years will study the western societies of 21st century and will laugh thinking how the hell we could be so stupid. Five years for killing a person… Some day we will also need to start talking about the judges… Politicians always take all the blame, but judges need to be held accountable too. Disgusting.

      The minister of justice should his powers under the Directive 2004/38/EC amended by European Communities (Free Movement of Persons) Regulations 2015. This gives him the power to deport any EU citizen from the territory of another EU member in the interest of public safety.

      I would be be considered by all accounts very left wing, woke snowflake blah blah blah, and I fully support immigration; but I fully believe that for instances like this, people should absolutely be deported back to their country of origin.

      He killed him. That human being is dead by his doing. And all he got was 5 years.
      Pathetic justice system in this country.

      The justice system need to have their ability to give such pathetic sentences removed. It’s fully possible in our common law system. They are called “sentencing guidelines” and have been used for decades in the UK.

      The judiciary need almighty reform. They are more social workers at this stage than those delivering justice.

      Your man followed them and harassed them repeatedly. Despite been told many times to leave. Obviously that doesn’t justify kicking someone in the head. But that fact it was provoked significantly reduced his sentence. Not saying the sentence was right. But people should read the full story before making out this was some completely unprovoked attack. And it certainly wasn’t murder.

      Can we not just bar him from staying in the country after his time is served.

      Should be deported back to a Romanian prison and serve life, 5 and a half years in Irish jail where he will have his own cell TV with Netflix 3 hearty meals a day is not justice for right out Murder. The judges of Ireland should be ashamed of themselves

      Unfortunately theres a lot more to the story than that headline would suggest. Context is important.
