I lavoratori entry-level del settore tecnologico e finanziario in Irlanda stanno perdendo il lavoro grazie all’intelligenza artificiale. Potrebbe essere un segnale di allarme per gli Stati Uniti?

These jobs were being cut to shit years ago because the recession indicators were, and still are, through the roof. AI is affecting things, but it’s mostly being used as an explanation so investors don’t get scared into hoarding mode.
Genuine question for those who work from home…. Do you fear your job can easily be replaced by AI, or low cost labour markets in other parts of the world?
I have 2 friends who own tech start up companies and both of them say that if a job can be done from home, then the person doing it doesn’t really add any extra value to the company.
They’re both actively downsizing their Irish staff in favour of low cost labour elsewhere.

Fortune isn’t a reliable source, it’s a click baiting fiend. It was reporting the below six days ago…

Trump is way ahead with the use of tariffs and increasing manufacturing, meanwhile in Ireland we still suffer as part of the EU when it comes to innovating, it will hit us harder but no, we won’t be used as a canary for the US, they’ve already anticipated this and took some action, how effective that action is still remains to be seen, but at the very least they’ve acted. However in Ireland we seem to be sitting on our hands.
IMO, AI will cut jobs at large companies cuz u don’t need so many humans. But AI is such a powerful tool, that I c more people working at small companies that AI technology helps create. It may take a while to make the transition (and some hardship), but I c AI helping us create companies and jobs that at the moment we can’t see.
Don’t forget it’s in the interest of companies heavily invested in AI to keep the hype train going. We all saw how the market reacted to any news about AI that’s not telling them it’s going to take over everything. I would not be surprised if Nvidia and co. have sponsored a few news articles telling the virtues of AI.
I work in tech in the US. AI isn’t so advanced that it’s replacing as many jobs as they claim. One issue is that the tech industry has thrown so much money at AI that isn’t increasing their bottom line. The other issue is that our government has ruined our economy but industry leaders won’t call them out on it, so AI is a convenient scapegoat for layoffs and hiring freezes.
