I think this is a relevant piece of news. Like us, Kazakhstan is an ex-USSR state currently in CIS, EAEU, and CSTO that is trying to expand ties with other countries and create distance between themselves and Russia.
Although these aircraft were in “unusable condition”, they still have an inherent military purpose, and they will be used towards the Ukrainian war effort. Something like this would have seemed unthinkable just a few years ago, no? And what sort of precedent or implication could this have for military-political developments in the post-Soviet sphere, such as in Armenia?
