Ciao a tutti, volevo condividere la mia prima esperienza con la birra ucraina, in particolare con l’Obolon Kyivske extra. L’ho visto nel mio total wine locale e altro nella sezione delle birre importate e la bottiglia ha attirato la mia attenzione e l’alc al 12% l’ha sigillata per me😂.
Ne sono diventato davvero un fan e sono tornato indietro e ho comprato gli ultimi 4 che avevano. Mi piace molto la sua morbidezza pur essendo ancora potente.
Ho provato a fare qualche ricerca sul marchio ma credo di aver cercato nei posti sbagliati e di non aver trovato molto.
Sono anche un fan del piccolo stemma che dice di sostenere l’Ucraina e di credere nel futuro, soprattutto a causa della guerra in corso. Sono felice di sostenere l’Ucraina anche se in questo modo minuscolo.
Mi chiedevo se qualcuno di voi potesse darmi qualche informazione su questa birra e se è culturalmente popolare in Ucraina. Oltre a eventuali consigli sulle birre ucraine, specialmente se sono in percentuale elevata come questa.

That’s one of my favorites! my local eastern european market always had it in stock, if I’m easy drinking I’ll get two of the red labels, if I wanna have a bit more fun I’ll do two of these.

Obolon is one of the biggest, if not biggest, macrobreweries in Ukraine. Most of their beers are on the lighter/sessionable side, but I like their porter too. The other big breweries you might find exported (e.g. Lvivske, Chernihivske, Slavutych) have a similar catalog of mostly 4-5% ABV Central/Eastern European styles with one or two extra-strong/fortified brews.
