It’s government policy to allow this, it could be fixed overnight.
So they aren’t back funding new projects but are infact back snapping up the limited stock we currently have available, how in the fuck is that a good news story?
More correctly “Ires-REIT pays for 77 Naas apartments to be built”.
Booms back
Is this not what renters are asking for? More units to be provided by professional landlords.
Hopefully they can purchase more. It’s definitely not ideal but it’s better than nothing. Government have been asleep at the wheel for too long and have the funding to fix this, as we have seen with their wasteful spending.
TD’s of all parties are terrified of house prices dropping, they are even scared of what happens when they stop rising.
With very poor design of towns and cities and poor population density, apartments are only way forward. But with very high spec on apartments and high cost of building them: only state bodies or large institutional investors are going to be able to operate in that space.
It will be fun in a few years when those investors start to use the planning process to block other projects..
