The service is screaming out for more paramedics yet HSE incompetence is clearly showing here.

Between this and the SNA’s the government really isn’t having a good week

This actually sounds reasonable. They want to employ them but they might need to fill positions in other areas which are in more urgent need – they won’t automatically get a permanent job where they were train.

Paramedics who have been working on the frontline for 2 years, now being told to reapply for the job they are currently working and fully qualified to do

Another failure of our government and health care system. Plenty of useless middle management and office civil servants in the HSE and/or Department of Health will never have any fear of losing their jobs. However front line paramedics critical to saving lives are being faced with this nonsense.
Another brilliant effect of our Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael governmen.t.

Can we have a vote of no confidence in the government and try again

This is an attempt to relieve the ‘burden’ on management to make an effort to place these paramedics as close to their home as possible. Now, they can say we need you here, take it out leave it, your choice. The HSE is screaming for heath care professionals and this is how they’re treated after already working damn hard academically and professionally for 2 years.

Well that’s worrying
I have been thinking for a minute about becoming a paramedic student in Ireland
