There is tremendous value on it.
I scan it every time.
I don’t know what I get out of it.
At least with the Tesco card you get vouchers every year.

Some stuff is marked down for Lidl plus only. So like yay?
Some items have additional discounts if you scan the app. There’s also a points account system that you can use to get coupons against some Lidl own brand stuff.
They’ll sometimes offer you personalised discounts in future based on your previous purchases. I buy a lot of protein stuff, so I get a lot of protein stuff in my “Just for You” coupon section.
You can also link your payment card to your app – Lidl Pay – and then you’ll only have to scan your loyalty app and they can take payment directly at the end, which saves me some fumbling when I’m packing my bags.
Plus price discounts, discount coupons once a week, points that can be converted into monetary discounts^(1) or free everyday items.
^(1 – You are limited to one each of the 500-point €5 discount and 1000-point €10 discount, per quarter of the year.)

Pain in the hole that you can’t add it to your phone’s wallet. Opening the app while Paweł is fucking lashing you groceries though the scanner with his four hands, and they’re piling up on the 3 square inches of counter at the end of the checkout is one of the most stressful things in life.
Have built up over €20 voucher on the app. Will use it on a piece of equipment later in the year. Get regular 20-25-30% discounts on regular items I purchase.

At the moment you can get 1000g of chicken fillets for €7.50. Normal price is €9.50. Around 900g of chicken fillets is €10 in dunnes.
Local Lidl was packed this evening, many stores assistants were required for the 5 empty tills.
There is a young girl on the till had a look in her eyes, those steeley eyes that had scanned a thousand people that day. I wondered if she hears that scanner beeping noise in her dreams. She had a tiredness about her too, that a few days off and some good nights sleep would proabbly fix.
I wanted to ask how she was and give her a hug, but she just wanted cash or card.
The lidl app has points you can exchange for points and you can exchange those points for more points.
You can add the deposit return vouchers to it and save them up or automatically use them as you go.
You can exchange for monetary vouchers but its a bit annoying it seems to only let you do that every 3-4 months, otherwise its trying to check what you will buy and exchange coupon. I have noticed a lot of the fruit and veg stuff is only discounted now on the app vs before you would just have the discount anyways.
You get 1 point for every €1 spent. You can exchange 1000 points for a €10 voucher. So essentially you get €10 off when you spend €1,000. Load of Utter Tosh.
In my Lidl you get vouchers with money off but they’re presented as coupons so it’s not immediately obvious. It was only when a cashier told us that we realised

When you scan you get all the deals like 3 for €9 on meats/fish, plus weekly coupons but you need to tap activate on those. Honestly the best thing about it is the deposit return scheme, can load the money from the returns into the app and it’ll be used when you scan. I can’t count the number of times I’ve either forgotten to use the return receipt and then ended up losing it
I traded Lidl gems or something today for 5 euro off my shop, didn’t realise I could until I was paying
I have been quite disappointed with Lidl, I loved their freebies like pastries once in a while. Now its 30% discount in stuff I don’t buy. If you gonna fetch my data, at least offer me something i usually buy or may have interest…
And nowadays, I either find their stuff not good quality, or sometimes even more expensive than other supermarkets.

You should have a page on the app with all the offers you can redeem if you scan it. They change monthly or weekly, but usually they’re not that great. Tesco is better imo with their vouchers, at least you can get whatever you want

I have never seen a blue token. I wouldnt know what to do if I saw one. I dont even think they are real.

Slightly off topic, but has anyone tried those Italiamo frozen pizzas they have in sometimes, in a blue box. 2 for a fiver, and they’re proper decent for that price.
Glad I’m not alone. Every time I check, it only offers me discounts on random products I never bought.
Being able to put your return deposit onto your account instead of getting (and losing) the paper receipt is the main reason I use it.
They gave me a free packet of crisps on my birthday.
