On quite a bit of social media I’m getting hammered with influencers claiming how safe the UAE is. Quite interesting the PR drive thats going on; they’re obviously worried.

What they don’t know is I worked in Abu Dhabi for a bit and know first hand its actually a vacuous shit hole.

You have to feel for the slaves that built that place. Bet there’s isn’t any government trying to ensure their safety

Is it also all the millionaires that left to not pay taxes?

  4. Colascape on

I don’t want a single one returned until all the foregone taxes are repaid upfront. You don’t want to chip in to society then why should you get bailed out by it?

How are those RAF Voyager tankers based at RAF Brize Norton doing?

You know the ones, the ones that can’t be used to help the Israeli air force because they use a totally different system, but might be needed to refuel RAF Atlas A400M and Hercules C-130J transport aircraft that can be used to evaculate people in an emergency situation and the Typhoons and F-35Bs that might needed to escort these aircraft.

They can pay for their repatriation out of the taxes they dodged by going there in the first place.

Holiday makers maybe. The brits that chose to live there to avoid taxes, often while bad mouthing the state of the UK… Well I’m sure they will be helped too, but they should be left to make their own arrangements.

France is also joining in defensive missions with the UK. Germany might even do offensive ones

  9. There is something hilariously poetic about British Expats moving the a Muslim country in the Middle East. Then wanting to flee back to the West because it isn’t safe.

Use the Right Wingers argument against them?

“WHY DON’T YOU STAY AND FIX YOUR OWN COUNTRY!!!”

  10. I can imagine the next spin: “Even though I ran away from missiles, it was still safer than the UK!”

Suddenly gone very quiet from the CEO’s and people like that worzel gummidge lookalike plumbing wanker about how good Dubai is, wonder how many private jets have already left the ‘closed’ airspace.

Without fail every person I know who lives in UAE has done one of those “thank you so much for all of your concern, I’m safe but a little shaken up, this puts everything into perspective” type posts on social media. Followed by a picture of the Burj Khalifa. Vacuous bunch.

Alpt of you guys in this sub are honestly heartless. You want the expats to potentially die in UAE because they didn’t want to get fleeced by the same tax system that we all complain about? They’re still British citizens ffs.

Luxury small boats are available. It has a maximum capacity of 200. It only costs £100k per person, no luggage allowed. Upon arrival, everyone will be assigned their own free room at a luxury hotel whilst being processed.

On the one hand I’m annoyed that the state is spending a huge sum on money to rescue the tax dodgers who have contributed nothing to their country for this service.

But children as being killed and populations displaced. Families are destroyed. I would rather we spend money on rescuing people that bombing them.

The venom in the replies, wanting to leave Britons in a country being bombed by Iran

    Crazy

  18. FlowerGathering on

Fuck em tax avoiding expats and influencers nothing of value lost to Britain.

As long as we make the ones who moved there to tax dodge pay for their own flights I’m good with this
