There’s absolutely no justification for what he did. Violence against women is never acceptable under any circumstances, and the fear and trauma he caused is completely on him.

At the same time, it is understanable how devastating it must have been for him to learn he wasn’t the father after believing it for so long. That kind of shock would break anyone’s heart but it still doesn’t excuse threatening someone or putting them in danger. You can feel sympathy for the emotional blow while still being clear that his actions were totally out of line.
