The US has no intention of putting any number of boots on the ground and without that they don’t really control anything

At the minute they are destroying the military, damaging infrastructure and then, what? Just hoping a better regime pops up?

It could. It might not. This war could turn Iran in to an ally or cement their position in directly opposing the west.

I don’t think the US cares either way, this was just another step in trying to change the path of geopolitics.

Would you align with China or Russia right now if you ran a country in the Middle East or South America? Look at Venezuela, now look at Iran. Both countries that considered themselves more aligned with Russia/China than the west and thus year proven one thing.

America will do what it wants and both China and Russia will do nothing about it. Not even sanctions. Strong diplomatic words is all they can do.

That’s America’s game. Showing potential opponents that you have to side with the west, because the other side doesn’t have the ability to defend you.
