Quanto è popolare il Pischinger Wafel in Austria? (So che è originario di lì). A Cracovia (Polonia) è uno degli snack più apprezzati e quasi tutti lo sanno.
when i was a kid it was the go to thing at the heurigen. but i do not see it that much any more…

Ich wollte immer viel essen ausprobieren, aber wo ich wohne, gibt es das nicht. Eigentlich gibt es viele Gerichte, die ich schon immer probieren wollte, und vielleicht werde ich nie die Chance dazu haben

I would say they used to be very popular, you can buy them in a standard supermarket but the 30€/kg are just well…not reasonable.
i’d say they are commonly known in and around Vienna, but the brand Manner is generally more popular.

Pischinger as a brand is pretty popular especially in the east. That product not really though, show this picture someone in Austria and they will associate it with Manner most likely.

I love their chocolate covered waffles (Pischinger-Ecken), both the triangular and square ones. They produce good nougat too.
For the Schnitten you posted I didn’t know Pischinger even made them. It’s Manner or nothing.

They are really good but unreasonably expensive

I know them but I only had them once or twice while Manner is omnipresent in Austria compared to these

Pischinger-Ecken are definitely well-known among the older generation (typical grandmother sweets I’d say), but the wafer market is firmly in Manner’s grip.

My father worked at Napoli/Manner. So we were absolutely equipped with all that stuff (fe 2 Boxes, Holding each about 5kg with Rumkugeln & Mini Mints).
But Pischinger… That was something Special … still today to See is to buy the „Betthupferln“.

Never heard of them https://pischinger.at/de/produkt-kategorie/produkte/waffel-klassiker/ I think I’ve seen the chocolate triangle ones. Idk. I think Manner is just winning the wafer market
I know the choco triangles years ago….
