Ciao a tutti,
- Truffa sui taxi aeroportuali
- miglior controllo all’uscita del terminal

Grazie 🙏

Here is the full English translation of the petition:
**To**:
* The Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety Inspection Body of the Republic of Armenia
* The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia
* Yerevan Municipality
* The Police of the Republic of Armenia
* The Management of “Armenia International Airports” CJSC
* The Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of the RA
**Subject: Measures to curb the activities of unlicensed carriers and protect the tourism image of Armenia.**
**Appeal**
“Zvartnots” International Airport is the pride of our country. In 2025, it confirmed its high status by winning the ASQ Customer Experience Awards for “Best Airport in Europe” and “Most Dedicated Staff.”
However, this prestigious status and Armenia’s atmosphere of hospitality are destroyed within the very first minutes of guests’ arrival in the country due to the chaotic and illegal activities of unlicensed carriers in the arrivals area.
**Problem Description**
At the terminal exit, groups of individuals systematically operate private transportation using fraudulent schemes. Taking advantage of the language barrier and the confusion of tourists, these individuals:
Manipulate pricing: They quote a price without specifying the currency, and at the end of the trip, they demand payment in Russian rubles or American dollars at a 1:1 exchange rate to the dram.
Conceal tariff conditions: Upon arrival, they claim that the quoted amount was the “price per kilometer,” inflating the final cost by 3–10 times.
Exhibit inappropriate behavior: The work of these individuals is accompanied by rudeness, a lack of basic manners, and intrusive service that borders on harsh psychological pressure.
Such incidents not only violate the law but also seriously degrade the first impression of the country’s atmosphere as a whole, creating a sense of danger and deception for guests instead of the expected warmth.
**Proposed Measures**
The high title of “Best Airport in Europe” obligates a corresponding level of service. We propose:
**1. Informational Transparency (Multilingual Approach):**
Install prominent information boards at the exit of the arrivals area in several languages (Armenian, English, Russian, French) indicating the average fixed cost of a trip to the center of Yerevan in drams.
Place QR codes for official taxi aggregators with a clear explanation: “The price in the app is final.”
**2. Infrastructural Solutions:**
Make public transport stops and ticket terminals as visible as possible (bright floor navigation, illuminated signs).
Ensure the possibility of paying for bus tickets with foreign bank cards (Visa/Mastercard) directly at the airport, so that the lack of cash drams does not make the tourist a hostage to illegal carriers.
**3. Safety and Law Enforcement:**
Organize a permanent police presence in the exit zone to immediately suppress intrusive solicitation of citizens and resolve conflict situations.
Together with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, tighten control over compliance with licensing rules in the airport zone.
**Conclusion**
It is unacceptable for the personal interests of unscrupulous individuals to damage the reputation of the state. We call upon the responsible agencies to protect the status of “Zvartnots” and ensure the guests of Yerevan the safety they deserve.
Easy fix:
1. Formal licensing for any taxi driver at the airport (like in London).
2. Keep police outside the airport and have them kick out any Taxi drivers that don’t have a license.
Also possible solution: have official booths for GG and Yandex Taxi right by the exit of the airport.
I flew into Zvartsnots as an American on the 15th, and every single stupid Taxi driver kept thinking I was a mark. Thank God I know better than to trust airport taxi drivers.
