Spurious claim doesn’t go the distance, who could’ve seen this coming

Why do these people even bother. It’s quite clear at this stage that there is no concrete evidence that will hold up in court to prove he was part of the IRA army council

  3. >Today, the last day of the two-week trial, Anne Studd KC, for the victims, told the UK High Court that the claim would be discontinued with “no order as to costs” after “proceedings developed overnight”.

I wonder what developed overnight? Are we likely to find out?

I’ve a lot of opinions on Gerry, SF and the rest, but he does get kudos for using the word dastardly in court.

Its just not used enough anymore.

I’d say they were told the likelihood of it succeeding was minimal considering most of the evidence was hearsay

Amazing that the judge allowed it to go on for 2 weeks.
Was clear from early in the case that this was in danger of being an abuse of process

    >Today, the last day of the two-week trial, Anne Studd KC, for the victims, told the UK High Court that the claim would be discontinued with “no order as to costs” after “proceedings developed overnight”.

    >**She continued that the development was “related” to an argument around “abuse of process”,** but was then stopped by the judge, Justice Swift, who said: “Whatever statement your clients may wish to make outside court is entirely a matter for them.”

    >“I am happy to make an order in the terms the parties have agreed,” he continued.

    >**Studd then said: “The claimants’ view is that these proceedings have been affected by unfairness.”**

    How odd.

That Benny Hill comment was an act of stunning panache from Gerry

Unfortunately there’s no paper trail…but the fact is that nobody, not even Gerry, thinks he wasn’t in the IRA

Gerry Adam’s and Afroman swatting away silly claims by laughing at people in court all in one week

There was no way a strong supporter of the England rugby team like our Gerry, could have been involved with the IRA.
