Greece is too corrupt for anything, you may donate 5 million and it will magically vanish into some pockets and the next day the museum is bankrupt.

I visited the museum several years ago and thought the exhibition was meagre and unimpressive. The builing and the location are very beautiful, but it requires some effort to get there, driving down tiny, winding roads through poor villages with sheer drops. As a result, I’m not sure who bothers to go apart from school trips, as it would not have much appeal to foreigners. It would be better served in the centre of Corfu Town, for example in the Kapodistrias family mansion on Mouragia, which has been sitting empty for a few years because the inside is collapsing. At least there, it could attract some tourists who are in the centre.
What Corfu really needs is a history museum. It’s incredible it doesn’t have one, especially when you have historic buildings in the centre like the old town hall and the old national bank which are empty or underused.

Not worth it. Your donation will be used to deepen the pockets of some public servant “responsible” for culture, museums, etc.
