      Every time I think the EU has learned its lesson, Orbán finds a new loophole honestly feels like a political cat and mouse game at this point.

      Orban is certainly a fly in the ointment, especially as he follows his master, (Putin) in respect of Ukraine. The EU is best rid of him as he brings nothing positive to the table.

      EU should simply deny Hungary all voting rights.

      It’s it according to the EU constitution? Absolutely not. But what is Orban gonna do about it?

      If he’s not playing by the rules, why should the EU as a whole do it?

      One one part is playing unfair you have to also play unfair. That’s the only way.

      Regardless whatever happens in the Hungarian elections, EU needs to look into measures on how to freeze out fifth columnist members from decision making when it’s clear they’re working for other interests than the union. If the absolute majority of members agree on matters of national security, then we have an existential problem if members working for other interests can veto those decisions. The EU was not setup to do war, but we have to realize that authoritarian regimes use this absolute need for consensus to threaten our existence.
