      They almost removed all bidets from flats.

      We use toilet paper, see what happened during covid….

      I’ve never seen a single one here. In a way, it’s a bit odd they’re not promoted, because sewage plants like to complain that wet wipes lead to costly pump clogs. But it’s a cultural thing and as all things cultural, touchy.

      I have seen them in Switzerland 40+ years ago, but not recently. Neither in Switzerland nor in Australia. In Asia, I often see bidet sprayers (hoses) in toilets.

      I’ve been using one of those japanese style “washlets” for years. it’s the best. warm seat in winter, various water settings and temperature.. so good 👍

      Ironically the closomat was invented in Switzerland.

      Geberit makes high-end washlets if you can afford it. But nowadays there are much cheaper options too and it’s just silly that big residential projects never bother with that.

      My experience is in switzerland is only limited to the closomat my grandfather had like 20 years ago. but back then i was to light that it would trigger.
      So i never referred to them as japanese style washlet. Also squat toilets that are sometimes called japanese style will be for me always the “french motorway toilet that is incredible dirty”.

      when we moved into our new apartment i sat on the toilet and i saw it had two buttons in elbow hight
      i pressed them at the same time while sitting on the toilet. i heard a wierd noise and suddenly the toilet shoot water right onto my hole. i got so scared that i jumped of the toilet

      all of this happened when i was 12 years old

      not the kind of experience youve asked for i think

      All three bathrooms of the home are equipped with bum guns since I live there. A bit of civilization in the barbary lands…
