Obviously? We have internet now
Something tells me that if it weren’t for teenagers who have to read books for Polish classes, that number would be even higher.
At least it’s not getting worse.
Writers are doing so shitty job that nobody wants to read anymore
Slightly off-topic, but one thing that honestly discourages me from trying new books is the absurd number of books being written with AI that the author didn’t give a damn about, and you don’t want to dedicate your time to reading a book that even the author didn’t bother to write. This limits you to choosing only the most popular books, taking away the nice feeling of trying something modern and different.
Does this include audiobooks?
If majority of Poles is against books, can we finally ban them from schools?
Its difficult to assess what this truly means, like if you’re not dinosaur you understand that you can read *a lot* of stuff today without ever grabbing book.
You can spend countless hours on Wikipedia or websites that are much more focused on any given subject and get a lot of knowledge.
You can listen to podcasts, watch interviews, tons of materials that go from silly to very competent etc.
