Do the magistrates have any leeway into sentencing for driving offences? I don’t see how they can look at her history, and think the same punishment that didn’t work 10 times before will work this time.
And if they don’t have any leeway, then what’s the point of having a magistrate waste time looking at it. Just apply an automatic ban.

It is because there are zero repercussions, it looks like she didn’t even respond to the letter. Normal people get 3 points and drive like saints as they get hit financially or risk losing their job if they have no car. I’d say they should put her in prison as it is the only way they can stop her but she’d only make some kind of documentary about her struggles there and make a mint out of that anyway.

First time losing your licence, it’s not impossible you made a couple genuine mistakes and it’s whatever (although questionable)
Second time losing your licence, I don’t think there’s really any excuse, you’re obviously a bad or reckless driver, but let’s make the penalties harsher and maybe have to pass a very harsh test to get your licence back.
Third time? Just get fucked. You’re not safe on the roads and you never will be.
Caught driving without a licence after the third and final ban? 2 years automatic prison sentence.

Needs a permanent driving ban and if she continues to drive, time behind bars. Simple as that, driving is a privilege granted when you demonstrate you can do it safely with respect for other road users, not an unalienable right.

As well as points clearing after a couple of years, there should also be a permanent track of points and if you get to 50 lifetime or something it should just be a permanent ban and prison time if you are ever found driving again.
