Well she is not wrong, but the cash to pay for them needs to come from somewhere Emily. That will mean you and the rest of the PLP voting for it when the Chancellor asks for savings elsewhere in budgets. Last time they tried they got a massive rebellion we will see if its any different next time round.

  2. The Royal Navy on the whole is in a shit state, we simply don’t have enough ships.

The T45 design was flawed meaning they have needed extensive changes to the propulsion system which has hampered availability. This has put strain on the rest of the fleet to cover tasking.

The over worked T23s are degrading beyond economical repair and well past their life ex date with replacements still years away.

On top of this delays with submarine maintenance means only one of our 5 world leading astute class attack submarines is active.

We no longer have stores ships to keep our ships sustain on operations

Our amphibious capability is nearly depleted and greatly reduced with the retirement of the Albion class LPDs and only one active Bay class.

The Vanguard class submarines are aging and replacements is still years off meaning longer maintenance period which means longer patrols.

Years of chronic underinvestment in defence is the reason.

Realistically it’s going to take about 10 years to get the RN back to where it should be and that’s assuming all the procurement programs go to plan and are funded correctly.

No shit, but consecutive governments have kept on stripping away military spending. Things like this is what happens when you don’t properly fund the people who are paid to keep the country safe.

Why can’t we innovate a quick build but technologically sound frigate using less sophisticated systems? Imagine WW2 was starting now. How could we do it?

We currently are building the replacment frigagtes.

And the fact we can detect the russans subs means we are already winning.

We’re working on it. We can’t just magic them up, but production is underway on the type 31s and Tyoe 26s.

Frigate are cool but I say we bring back the Dreadnoughts. carrier scale, muclear powered 12 – 16 cannons mounts, 14-24 dragonfire for point defense and a couple of massive rail guns

The UK will never improve. Not because of inderviduals but geopolitics, history, and identity. Uk MPs need votes however the country is so divided on what ethical commitments it wants to adhere to that any political swing could mean a death sentence. We also have self serving populous lying wolves going for PM position like farage who will destroy the country, he already did destroy the country, completely, however much the evidence is in your faces the British people won’t listen to common sense. No wonder the duvided givermrnt is creatung a divided nation. Too many political grifters happy to sit on the gravy train while not even serving the constituency. The further the UK slides down the more ridiculous and desperate the promises get. So no wonder the UK has the likes of fruit loop polanski and the cretin farage, even when they have links to racist fascist connections. The UK is on a pivot..we will swing either way in regards to political ethical destruction, both ways will destroy the identity of Britain on the global stage. It’s not your fault it’s a drowning ship, youre finished as a nation that stands at the big table, you need to focus on reducing your military, to home defence, stop over reaching, invest in everything to level up your work force and industries skills, and get back to what you did best ingenuity, begire its too late.

Who would have thought that a maritime nation needed an effective navy?
