Let’s hope for a quick, fair and cooperative transition of power.
    Great news.

Something good happened today. Congratulations Hungary.

Guy has been in power since 2010. I am happy for Hungary and EU.

Слава Ісусу Христу. Now let’s hope this one truly behaves better and (at minimum) does not hold Ukrainians hostage or try and sew division in Post-Carpathian Ukraine.

Full supermajority too, so the damage Fidesz can do in opposition is hugely reduced.

All of the major rules and people in positions that Orban has arranged can be cancelled and rewritten now.

Haha! I was looking *so* forward to waking up to this news tomorrow.

My morning may be ruined, but at least I’ll go to bed happy tonight 🙂

  7. Congrats Hungary, one less cunt with more power than is correct.

The winner is centre-right? Hope not another Putin stooge.

Trump and Vance are toxic to European far right campaigns. So at least we got that going for us.

What a relief. We did it. However, I appreciate his handling the defeat with dignity, I was always saying that while he was a total putin-assplug, he is at least not a Lukashenko.

Wouldnt have expected that in our timeline. A glimmer of hope ;-[

Is his replacement better? Seems people always get hyped over shitty politicians getting replaced just for the replacement to be substantially worse.

    We’re proud of Hungary today

**YES!** But also, wow, who expected him to just shrug his shoulders and concede? I personally expected it to be messier, court cases, accusations of cheating, the Krasnov playbook basically followed by an appeal to RuZZia to come in and restore order. I have to say, like any of these soviet puppet states such as Slovakia and the United States I was more in expectation of Orban gaining 101% of the votes than of him just admitting defeat and taking it so calmly. I hope he’s now thoroughly investigated for corruption.

Now please Hungary change your constitution, no one should be in power for 16 years. At least Merkel stepped down voluntarily after that time …
