      Aye.

      Only a few years prior, the S.S. La Bourgogne passenger liner en route to New York sank in similar circumstances in the same area. But that sinking was more a case of “Women and children last..!” The French crew (armed with knives and boat-hooks), fought-off desperate passengers so they could keep the life-boats to save themselves…

      And to think, if the Titanic hadn’t tried to steer away and had just hit the iceberg head on it might’ve made it to New York. Once they noticed it they tried to avoid it, but turning around meant the iceberg scraped the hull open which lead to it sinking.

      Back before X became a Nazi child porn festering sore, there was an account that live tweeted the Titanic journey on its anniversary from leaving port to sinking, as if from the captain. It was very cool.
