With the Epstein Files Distraction War continuing to rage, this is excellent timing that will mean less dependence on imported fossil fuels.

Wish these projects were making mainstream news atm, truly brilliant

We are also adding another field of turbines at greater gabbard, offshore between Sizewell and Aldeburgh in Suffolk and the onshore network distribution site, a 22 acre Solar farm at Yoxford down the road and 2 nuclear reactors being built at Sizewell C in between those sites. So full steam ahead, shame the government isn’t very good at blowing its own trumpet.

As an aside, can I just state how awesome the ships are that construct these turbines – they are truly a masterpiece of engineering! I actually saw one of them, ‘Wind Peak’, when it docked in Hull in March. It can transport six sets of wind turbines in one trip and is ginormous!

Love it. We really are a world leader in wind power.

That’s quite a distance for an undersea cable to make landfall – we’ll have to watch out for unfriendly ghost-ships dragging anchors: data and power now potentially at risk.
