Well….somewhat surprising but none the less refreshing to know that at least some people in FF know what’s going on, on the ground in every day life of a lot of people. “Monitoring the situation” is not a policy that brings the country forward….

There will be a heave against Martin. Backbenchers will and have been getting an earful from angry constituents.
Hopefully this brings down the government. They’ve completely lost trust. Scolding people like a teacher telling them they are protesting the “wrong way”. The absolute nerve!
FFFG have been running Ireland like a business and extracting as much profits for their property developer friends and big corporations, the tax payer is paying for this.
Me and you. What do we get in return? Unaffordable housing, extortionate rents, high taxes, shit services and laughable public transport.
But we are told by FFFG on a daily basis that we are a wealthy country. They are completely out of touch.
I’m not a farmer. I’m not right wing. I supported the protests and I have and will vote socdems. The current policies are not working. Time for change.

I don’t know where these voters are going to go. Obviously not to FG, the left want to raise taxes, I haven’t a clue who SF are supposed to be representing, it’s only Aontu and the Independents left. The story of this politically I think is the large gap which has opened up on the conservative centre right of the political spectrum, and someone needs to fill it before the hard right and Russian bots do.

* Offer concessions = Its not enough / its too much
* Offer nothing = Tone deaf / Fiscally prudent

And he’ll be fine as per usual. Him and Simon have a remarkable skill of getting into so much shit and still surviving.

Between this and the Jim Gavin debacle, he should be shown the door.

I think the government has handled this really well. Yes, it’s been inconvenient that some petrol stations have been left empty. But protests have been sorted and then curtailed in a fair manner.
We didn’t have the army come out with guns, just two heavy recovery trucks.
The government dealt with this fairly and as seen in another sub have responded with a better person capita package than Germany for example
