£3 million between Liverpool, North East, West Yorkshire South Yorkshire, West Midlands and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough?

    Big whoop.

When the actual use of public transport is the barrier to using it then nobody is going to use it, free or not.

I’ve been spoilt over the last 20 years, living in a country where typically in cities the local public transport runs at around 9 to 10 busses/trams per hour. In smaller towns once every 15 minutes and in the middle of nowhere once every 30 minutes.

Here I’m lucky to get a bus every hour, if that.

Public transport is one of those things that the phrase “Build it and they will come” is completely true.

“Meanwhile, in Norfolk, a new bus service has been introduced between Great Yarmouth and Caister into Norwich, serving several rural villages”

  4. I think bus travel will only ever take off if they rebrand what they have now into the economy option, then introduce another set of buses that offer a premium/business experience. Price out all the antisocial behaviour.
