Ciao a tutti, probabilmente è una domanda stupida. Sono nuovo nel paese e mi sono trasferito 3 settimane fa, ma non mi è stata data la chiave della cassetta postale. Solo le chiavi dell’ingresso dell’appartamento e del palazzo. Sia il mio padrone di casa che il mio coinquilino sono in vacanza in Asia. Ho mandato loro un messaggio ma non lo vedranno fino al mattino.
Non voglio forzare la serratura rischiando di rompere qualcosa, ma dato che non mi è stata data una chiave separata, è possibile che la chiave di casa funzioni qui? Oppure mi manca sicuramente una chiave separata e più piccola? Grazie a tutti in anticipo.

Edit: at least all the flats I rented had seperate keys for that. I’ve never heard of a mail boy having the same lock as your house door

Separate key. Don’t try to force it open. Landlord/roommate should have it. Is there something important in there that can’t wait until tomorrow?
Usually you get seperate small key 🔑 for mailbox, better to wait until tomorrow for answer from your landlord

In the meanwhile until they can answer or give you the keys, check the box using your phone’s camera. Take a pic with flash to see if there are any new mail. Just don’t let your phone fall (speaking from experience).
If there is/are mail, try fishing it out with your hand, or use a sort of stick and put something sticky (tape or smth) on its edge.
Should be a smaller, separate key. If you havent tried (gently) pushing the locking bar up/down from the inside, you could try that, if you think something important is in there. Many mailbox locks are more for show than anything else and yould turn the locking mechanism with a spoon handle. Source: Am mailman.
Flathead screwdriver and it open with no problem and you can close it too
