    1. Air is colder over sea than land.

      Cold wind comes in from the Atlantic, meets the warmer air on the land, and pushes that warmer air higher.

      Air that is pushed up cools, becomes clouds.

      Literally just flew into London from Morocco a couple of hours ago and now waiting on my connecting flight to Belfast.

      I noticed as soon as we hit the southern shores of the UK, it got very very cloudy.
