This cannon was used by the Belgian Army along the Yser Front during the First World War. At nearly 6 metres long and weighing 2.4 tonnes, this howitzer is the only preserved example of its type, making it a unique artifact of the heavy artillery deployed during WWI.
The unveiling was accompanied by the launch of a new visitor route guiding visitors through the fascinating and harrowing history of this unique site, as well as a new educational package developed alongside it.
Genuinely worth the trip if you haven’t been to Dodengang yet!
