Il sindaco di Helsinki Daniel Sazonov (Partito della Coalizione) ha ricevuto lunedì sera la spiegazione da lui richiesta riguardo ai sussidi comunali utilizzati per pagare gli stipendi di tre dipendenti dell’associazione Sun Ray.
Helsingin Sanomat ha riferito sabato che la città ha versato oltre 45.000 euro in borse di lavoro all’associazione Sun Ray, che manda i bambini dalla Finlandia ad “Artek” nella Crimea occupata.
Sazonov sostiene che la città non avrebbe fornito sostegno all’associazione se avesse saputo dei legami della Sun Ray con la Russia.
Secondo il sindaco, la città sta utilizzando tutti i mezzi per recuperare i fondi della sovvenzione.
– Gli avvocati della città stanno valutando le modalità con cui i fondi potrebbero essere recuperati.

Okay, cool.
Can they reimburse the grantmoney from Sun Ray?
Sazonov is an ethnic russian himself. Not sure how he has managed to become Helsinki mayor. I think this case should be investigated by SUPO
I can’t help but feel that if Yle news can figure out the ties these organizations have, probably whoever is dishing out these funds should be able to figure it out too.. I mean before they’ve already given the money.
Do they do any research at all?
The whole story has been really blown up for political propaganda in order to attack the mayor. I didn’t vote for him so I have no interest to defend him. But it’s so obvious there is an agenda to discredit him only because he has Russian origin.
Of course the city of Helsinki wouldn’t ever grant money to such associations if their goal was declared as such in the open.
So the correct framing shouldn’t be “The City gave money to Russian propaganda” (active action) but “The City was scammed by Russian propagandists” (passive damage). Pretty different perspective imho.
