I’ll bet 50$ this guy can’t even show Karabagh on the map yet alone know actual history of the region. Diaspora crybabies whispered to his ear that sharing such post would get him votes, so he does it.

This man is either ignorant about history or getting payed by Armenian lobby.

1- Before that there is a 5.5 million Balkan Genocide. Why didn’t commemorate that then too? What’s so special about Armenian one? Or Algerian Genocides, both in 1830’s and 1950’s.

2- If 100.000 displaced people is a genocide, then what is 500.000-1.000.000 displaced Azerbaijanis in 1992?

3- In 2020 Azerbaijan and Turkey took back the internationally recognized Azerbaijani soil from occupation of Armenians, since 1992, after the genocide of Azerbaijanis by Armenians.

      Simply unbelievable.

I do agree with his Armenian genocide statement on Ottoman empire but since I was following the news tho out the conflict, Armenian fled Nagorna Karabakh on their own accord in fear of Azerbaijani forces despite Azerbaijan president offering general amnesty. As far as Ik, Turkish forces weren’t involved in direct combat with the Armenian and calling that a genocidal campaign is pretty absurd. He clearly is being misinformed on the facts on the ground.

I am not from the country of interests but bro be trying to fuel shit again between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Over the hundred years, both countries finally achieved some peace, why try to start some shit?

And also why are we doing “those lands promised to them 3000 years ago” shit with Nagorno Karabakh? “Armenians had it at some time of history” is the same justification Israel and Russia gave before attacking Palestine and Ukraine. Again no offense to anyone, but whoever had the land in the map in recent history (and internationally accepted) that land belongs to that country. If it recognized as Armenia’s land in last 80-100 years then it is Armenia’s and if it is recognized as Azerbaijan’s land, then it is Azerbaijan’s. No need with this 3000 years ago bs again.

ya hasiktirsin gitsin american politicans live in the pockets of armenian americans, this is nothing new. the root of the problem is twofold: 1 – the azerbaijani diaspora in the us is not big enough to have an influence and 2 – the turkish diaspora in the us is probably the most dysfunctional diaspora as turks abroad show 0 solidarity with each other; they just care about being “more successful” than the other turks in the vicinity. as long as the diasporas continue to have zero effect on american politics, we’ll keep seeing these statements. siktirsin amk evladı since when has defending your homeland been a “genocide”

Bu Azərbaycan dövlətinin siyasi PR-ının zəifliyindən irəli gəlir. Torpaqlarda bərpa işi görülür, davamlı olaraq qaçqınlar köçürülür – 1 dəqiqəlik düşünsək, dünyada başqa nümunəsi olmayan bir prosesdir. Amma bu proses heç kimin baxmadığı azərbaycan kanallarından başqa heç yanda paylaşılmır. Dünya ictimaiyyəti üçün dövlətin mesaji yalnız hansısa məmur balasının büdcədən vəsait silib 26 Fevralda NYC-da 6-7 gəzdirdiyi Xocalı barəsində mobil bannerdən ibarətdi, hal-buki NYC-lular heç Azərbaycan kimi dövlətin mövcudluğundan bixəbərdi. Dövlət daxili propaqanda ilə məşqul olaraq xarici propaqandanı tamamilə unudub.

What makes me sad and angry the most is not even the genocide itself, but everything else. Why are we Azerbaijanis equated with Ottomans? why do they mock the fact that our people and country appeared later? Why doesn’t anyone pay attention to the Armenian lobby in France and America? Armenia can commit genocide 100 times, but they always get away with it when they shout about 1915… when will we Azerbaijanis start to be recognized in the world? Even damn Russians don’t know what Azerbaijan is, but they know Armenia, when will they start respecting us and not hush up our tragedies?

I am already fed up with Armenians who boast that they have known the ancient proud artisans, Europeans, Christians, civilizers, and we are a dirty Asian horde of Tanners and churka

Since when are ,,democracies” allowed to attack?

I’m tired and I hate everyone.

Whether you believe the Armenian genocide happened or not and whether Azerbaijan reconquering Nagorno-Karabakh was or wasn’t a genocide aside, I wonder why Mamdani decided to take a stance on this issue.

I get that there’s a significant Armenian diaspora that cares about this sort of thing, but is their vote really worth it? Armenians make up 0.1-0.2% of the NYC population. This seems like one of those international issues that have nothing to do with America in general let alone NYC specifically, and it seems to be one that it would’ve been far easier to just not bring up. Very little to gain seemingly only to anger Turks and Azerbaijanis.

indian shiite socialist getting to rule in a totally unrelated country and then hating azerbaijanis? what a surprise(Khomeini was also an indian shiite)

I do acknowledge the Ottoman Empire’s genocide, but linking it to the modern Karabakh conflict is pure absurdity. They are two completely separate issues.
Of course, this narrative benefits Armenians as it allows them to further victimize themselves under the idea that “Turks/ Muslims committed genocide against them.” But it always works against Azerbaijan. The sooner Azerbaijanis distance themselves from the false “Turks/Muslims vs Armenians” framing and instead emphasize internationally the real historical and geopolitical roots of the Karabakh conflict, the better it will be for them.
