È facile passarci davanti senza rendersi conto di cosa stai guardando: il Puente Romano a Marbella è un autentico ponte romano del I secolo, ora circondato da lussureggianti giardini subtropicali all’interno di un resort alberghiero. Uno dei luoghi storici più sottovalutati della Costa del Sol.

I honestly have mixed feelings about this. If it is freely open to the public then that’s cool that someone is maintaining it so it can be appreciated by people, especially considering the gardens it’s in.
But I am also conscious of the realities of capitalism and the world we live in. There’s no fucking way this is freely open to the public, simple because corporations are not gonna pass up an opportunity to make money.

Sinceramente, tengo sentimientos encontrados al respecto. Si está abierto al público de forma gratuita, me parece genial que alguien lo mantenga para que la gente pueda disfrutarlo, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta los jardines en los que se encuentra.
Pero también soy consciente de la realidad del capitalismo y del mundo en el que vivimos. No hay ni de coña que esté abierto al público de forma gratuita, simplemente porque las empresas no van a dejar pasar una oportunidad de ganar dinero.

I went to a school built against a Roman wall, and I know at least a restaurant that has a piece of that same wall existing peacefully in their storage area.
It doesn’t detract from the awe of contemplating history, though.
Recomiendo encarecidamente ver videos de Isaac Moreno Gallo, una vez hecho esto estaréis de acuerdo conmigo en que ese puente no es romano ni tiene 2000 años, aún así, es una bonita obra de arquitectura muy bien integrada con el paisaje.
