One day the parliament will grow a spine. But today’s not that day.

One must remember that Blocher was supportive of the Apartheid. SVP 💩🤮

    Swiss diplomacy starter pack:
    Neutral ✅
    Careful wording ✅
    Actual decision ❌

Excellent news, Switzerland is neutral and shouldn’t involve itself in international disputes by recognising rump pseudo states.

swiss ‘neutrality’ has always just be opportunism.. Israels get more money and gold and is better for business than basic human rights

Correct decision. Why should Switzerland recognize a pseudo-state that is completely unstable and lacks a functioning state structure?

Why should we? Or, why should anyone?

Just let the terrorists win because the other side is doing horrible things to?

I hope you are all ok with RUAGs cooperation with Israel on making cluster bombs that bombed Lebanon and more than 600 million chf of taxpayers money going to weapons research with the IDF.  This is swiss democracy in action.

But isn’t that purely cosmetic at this point ? There is no state to recognize, no government. Others countries did recognize Palestine and the situation didn’t change.

Sensible Swiss. There is no Palestinian state to recognise, how can something that doesn’t exist be recognised?

The other countries that recognised this no-existent entity (e.g. UK) are just virtue signalling.

    • Defined territory: Partial (West Bank + Gaza; borders disputed, Israel controls much). ❌
    • Permanent population: Yes (millions of Palestinians live there). ✅
    • Government: Partial (PA in West Bank, Hamas in Gaza – divided). ❌
    • Independence/sovereignty: Partial (157 countries recognize, but no full control). ✅
    • Democracy: Partial (elections exist, but corruption and division). ❌
    • Women’s rights: Limited (many laws discriminate against women). ❌
    • Gay rights: Very poor (homosexuality illegal, persecution). ❌
    • Minority rights: Limited (little protection for Jews, Christians). ❌
    • Other religions: Restricted (Islam dominates, others disadvantaged). ❌

Palestine is a pan-Arab invention of the 20th century. With the money and other resources just Gaza has received, it should be a paradise and rich like Monaco. Instead, all the money went to Hamas leaders who are billionaires, and the rest went to buying weapons, building tunnels, and radicalizing the Arab people living there. ‘Palestinian’ leadership is keeping it poor and miserable on purpose, because without the misery of its own people, it wouldn’t exist
