Nations joined NATO because Russia is and has always been hungry for the territory and subjugation of other peoples. NATO only exists because Russia cannot be trusted.
Putin likes to pretend that not acting like an asshole *right now* by refraining from invading Finland means he’d never do it. Ask Ukraine about that. It’s far better to be in an alliance that guarantees your sovereignty than it is to be on your own living next to a neighbor who thinks *longstanding, internationally-accepted* territorial borders are just a suggestion. It’s better to have friends who expressly promise to protect your borders when your all your neighbor’s public statements and all their postering tell you he believes that *might*—not the adherence to international law—*makes right*.

What he is doing is called ”projection”. Everything he would do or is doing gets projected onto someone else entirely. Finland is not Russia, you little shit.
