I’ve seen people not clear up their dog poo in the past. It is always the same sort. Either a hoity-toity middle class woman dressed up like a ploughman’s lunch who thinks she’s too good to do it. Or a scruffy bozo with obnoxious unruly kids running around and a staffy or Bully named Rizler, Bruno or Tyson, who can’t be arsed to do it because it means carrying a bag of shit with him for 20 yards until he reaches the bin.

Needs to be made a legal requirement for it to be picked up in the countryside. Agricultural land, woodland, marsh/moor/heath and common land are exempt under current dog fouling legislation.

Should a sign like that not be instantly clear at a glance?

The type of person it is aimed at probably isn’t going to care anyway, but they are going to be even less likely to lean in and read some tiny text.

Honestly it does my head in. It’s so low effort to not do and if you’re caught you should lose your right to have a pet.

Worst lot are the ones who must think it’s fine to bag it up and then just toss it. See it constantly on all the woodland walks near where I live. As if forest is just going to clean it up for you by magic. Infuriating.

I don’t understand those people who bag it up and then just leave it on the ground or hang it in a tree. I assume some of them are people who don’t want to carry it on their walk, intend to pick it up on their way back but forget, but some of these abandoned bags have to be people going “yep, good enough”.

You’re not a responsible dog owner if you don’t pick up after your dog, and you shouldn’t be allowed to own one.

You also find a lot out about your dogs health from its poo – check for parasites etc…and it prevents diseases being spread if dogs aren’t vaccinated.

Every dog owner should be made to smell parvovirus and then maybe they might change their mind!

Also if you don’t pick up after your dog remind me to never ever come to your house as I will assume you don’t clean your toilet or wash your hands either, dirty people!

People are just insanely entitled and lazy and don’t care. If they are picking it up it is also sometimes hit and miss whether they put their bags in the bin or just throw them into trees etc. it needs to be better enforced.

I live in a cul-de-sac with a public footpath at the end of it. Many dog walkers walk down our road to walk their dogs on that path.

Naturally, due to this, me and my son have to weave our pram and bike around dog poo just left on the public pavements almost every single day.

One time when I was 8 months pregnant I had to pick up frozen dog poo from OUTSIDE MY FRONT DOOR, because someone had let their dog come on my drive, poo in front of my door.. and then just left it there. Insane person behaviour.

It’s the same with everything. People want the fun side but do not want the responsibility that comes with it. They want life to be endless enjoyment. You see it with terrible parents and terrible pet owners.

Dog ownership needs to be reviewed as the majority cannot be trusted to be responsible and considerate around others in public and the effects of dog filth on the environment and ecosystems. The introduction of dog licenses, mandatory training, stringent leash and muzzle laws and the banning of the animals in public spaces especially dogs in any establishment that sells food.

Dog attacks since covid have increased to unprecedented levels. Dog owners keep pushing boundaries they are creeping into every public space… dog free kiddies play ground… nah doesn’t apply to me because my dogs soft, NO DOGS IN STORE… claim it’s an emotional support XL bully and screw everybody else.

Not everybody likes the noise, smell, filth and destruction caused by dogs yet it is forced upon us by irresponsibly owners who are now a majority.

I think the people that pick it up then throw their little black bag on the floor are ten times worse, you’ve done the hard work you piece of shit.

My house backs onto a protected wood… if I see anyone from my office window letting them dog dump and walk off you’ll hear me screaming at the prick from my window to stop being a filth bag.

Best I can do is leave it in a bag dangling on a branch insisting I’ll be back the same way later and then *accidentally* go home a different route.

This makes me irrationally angry. The amount of random dog turds on my local high street is disgraceful. And regularly you see a splatted one, walked fifteen yards down the road with ever fading secondary footprints. It’s just grotesque.

I love dogs, but people who don’t pick this up should be punished really harshly with big fines. People shouldn’t have to walk through dog shit constantly while just going about their business.

You should see it around Kensington high Street
The “nanny’s” tie it up neatly and hang it on trees …..or just throw it…..😕

Had a quick walk on the St Anne’s beach yesterday. First signs of tourists visiting was the three piles of dog shit in less than a mile. They mustn’t be able to read the ‘no dogs on the beach’ sign as well as the everyday ‘clean up’ ones. What kind of person lets their dog shit where kids so obviously play ?

    16. I’m very much a if I’m on a public path or pavement I’ll always clear up.
If we’re in the woods, as long as the dogs not going on the footpath in the woods (she rarely does) I’ll leave it
