Il copilota afferma che viene trasferito in percentuale, il che significa che se il candidato aveva bisogno di 4k e ha ottenuto 5k, 1k viene distribuito in porzioni dei suoi 2 voti.
Nel frattempo ho amici che hanno lavorato alle elezioni e hanno giurato che non era proporzionale ma basato sulla fortuna, il che significa che 1k su 2 potrebbe andare alla persona a anche se la persona B ha ottenuto 4k su 2.

There is only one resource you need in order to understand how voting works in Malta.

It was put together by a couple of devs with heavy input from an electoral statistician. They not only explain how the single transferable vote works, but they also use past electoral data to show how using (or, more importantly, NOT using) your second, third, fourth, fifth, etc., voting preference affects the outcome.

Example:
* Quota needed to win = 4,000 votes
* Candidate A gets = 5,000 votes
* Surplus = 1,000 votes
The count then examines the next available preferences on those 5,000 ballots.
Suppose:
* 50% next prefer Candidate B
* 30% next prefer Candidate C
* 20% have no usable next preference
Then approximately:
* 500 votes worth transfer to B
* 300 votes worth transfer to C
* 200 become non-transferable
I have another question, for people voting ADPD or Momentum as their 1st and 2nd choices, and PN as third: In a scenario in which no third party candidates win a seat, would the transferred vote still give PN the chance to lead the government (obviously depending on all the other votes too) or is the 1 which determines that part of the election? *Asking genuinely
Basically, you have a single chance every five or so years to transfer your vote to your power-hungry oppressor of choice, whereby you feel a momentary satisfaction of being in control of your future, which is immediately transferred to said oppressor the second you post the ballot paper.
