During a peaceful 16-minute silent gathering in front of the Law Faculty in Belgrade (honoring victims of the Novi Sad canopy collapse), a driver deliberately drove his car into senior citizen Veroljub, who was attending the protest, as he has been doing for the past year and a half. He suffered a broken femur (and head injury according to some) and was rushed to the hospital.

A separate incident occurred at the same location, hwere a student was attacked with a metal pipe by a man during the same silent gathering.

The driver was apprehended by citizens before police arrived, and then they had to be begged to arrest the him. They took him away without handcuffs and without violence which they regularly apply on protesters

Following the incidents, students and citizens marched to the headquarters of RTS (biggest state broadcaster) demanding objective coverage of the violence

A large student protest is planned for May 23 at Slavija Square, and unfortunately Veroljub will probably not be able to attend due to his injuries

      Such cruelty… such disrespect… I’m speechless

Where is the police? Oh, yeah Serbia doesn’t have police

    4. Oof, a broken femur at that age is going to be rough. Low chance of getting similar mobility back, takes a year or so to recover from, and about 1/3rds chance of significant complications to not make it.

He potentially killed that man, given the age and injury

This is what every western country will look like if right wing populism wins

And then they claim it’s the old man’s fault for protesting. Imagine the lack of any Inkling of empathy and shame in those animals, beasts, creatures. Anything but humans!

    8. Didn’t even need to open the thread to already guess this was in Serbia…

We are still protesting and asking for elections,

they can postpone presidential elections for 11 more months at most.

Serbia will not rest until Vucic regime is gone.
