A massive scandal has rocked Serbia following the arrest of Veselin Milić, the Chief of the Belgrade Police Directorate and former anti-corruption advisor to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić. Milić has been placed in 30-day detention for allegedly covering up a brutal gangland murder and actively obstructing justice.

      **The Incident:**

      * **The Meeting:** On May 12, 2026, Police Chief Veselin Milić was at a restaurant in the upscale Belgrade neighborhood of Senjak. He was sitting with Aleksandar Nešović (known as “Baja”), a high-ranking member of a notorious Belgrade criminal organization (the Keka clan). Milić had reportedly arranged the meeting to mediate a dispute between Nešović and another criminal, Saša Vuković (known as “Boske”). Interestingly, owner of the restaurant where this took place is president’s brother Andrej Vučić.
      * **The Execution:** During the meeting, a heated argument broke out. Vuković pulled out a firearm and shot Nešović multiple times, killing him on the spot.
      * **The Cover-Up:** Instead of arresting the shooter, Milić and his police entourage orchestrated an immediate cover-up. Milić and one officer stayed behind at the restaurant to scrub the crime scene and manually delete all security camera footage.
      * **Disposing of the Body:** Meanwhile, two of Milić’s official police bodyguards helped the shooter transport the victim’s body out of the restaurant. They drove to an area next to a highway near Šimanovci, where **the police officers actively helped burn the mafia member’s corpse** and dump it.

**The Fallout:** The victim was initially reported missing on May 13. Following an intensive internal investigation, the charred remains were discovered, and a massive raid led to the arrest of eight individuals. Among those detained are the shooter, the victim’s wife, three police officers, and Police Chief Milić himself.

Milić is facing severe charges, including failure to report a crime and aiding a perpetrator after the fact. Serbian opposition politicians and public figures are expressing outrage, calling it proof of the complete criminalization of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and pointing out that the arrested police chief was a trusted, long-time ally and personal advisor to President Vučić.

This genuinely reads like one of those crime dramas where the writers accidentally make the corruption too over the top and critics call it unrealistic.

Except this is apparently real life.

Mind you that the execution happened in a RESTAURANT in the heart of Belgrade in front of dozens of people. The police chief then helped the killer dispose of the body by burning it right next to a HIGHWAY in front of dozens of people. He then went off pretending like nothing happened thinking that he had managed to get away with it. These are some insanely autistic levels of corruption and arrogance.

This was also covered up until yesterday. Some montenegrin dude on twitter/tiktok exposed it, got attacked by army of government bots for lying, and only afterwards did the official news come out.

    5. How many months before another visit from Kos to visit her bastion of peace and stability in the region?

I dont know if most europeans can understand just how absolutely and completely serbia is compromised by mafia and crime and incompetence. On every step of the way. From top to bottom.

To think that this country will join the EU before Ukraine. Yikes..

Do you guys remember the scene in Godfather 1 where Al Pacino sits in the restaurant with other mafia guy and police officer to talk about peace..

Serbia is a country ran by Mafia. And EU, not Russia, not China, are the one supporting it. Students all over Serbia rose against the regime and have been protesting for 1.5 years. Soon the elections will happen and hopefully Vucic will be thrown down.

And Polish head of police have blown up half of police headquarters by setting of a smuggled grenade launcher. He retired with a very good pension and didn’t suffer any consequences whatsoever

Its like in the Godfather part 1 movie, when police chief is mediator between Michalel Corleone and Solozzo, and then Corleone kill them both. This is that type of situatuon, minus killed cop. The worst thing is that restoran was open for public and there were other guests witniesing murder and were held during the time police chief and his three bodyguards were cleaning murder scene. They were held by force. Absoulutely sureal scenes! To make things spicier the owner of rhe restoran is Vucic own brother.

Yeah I think Serbia is not ready for EU membership …

    12. The restaurant where executions has happened is in Michelin guide, if anyone wants to visit.

    13. Worth to mention that the Police chief, Veselin Milic served as a special advisor to President Aleksandar Vucic on combating crime and corruption, having been appointed to the position by Vucic himself.
