When I did my diving course, the instructors said ‘cave diving? Just don’t, it’s incredibly dangerous and the reason for most diving deaths in this country. Even the supposed experts die, because they’re the only ones that do it,’
I’ve never had reason to doubt their assessment.

Are they sending in a new search team to look for this guy? Soon this cave has more bodies than mount Everest.

Is there no some sort of robot submersible that could do this?

The saddest part is that he died trying to help grieving families find closure. Rest in peace, Mohamed.

Rest in peace. I dont know how this diving stuff works, but this seems like a totally unecessary death no?

My mom had an accident mid dive and my dad decided to sell of of their equipment. I think it was a good call. When they came back my mom was shaken for the entire week saying “the oxygen was gone, it took so long to get up”.
I never tried getting into it after that. Not worth it. Accidents happen all the time in diving and they’re not easy to fix
I hope the families of the divers get some peace eventually. Terrible tragedy

As terrible a tragedy as it is. Should just leave the bodies. Dont risk any more lives. Cost is too great.

Cave Diving is a “not even once” level activity, unfortunately. There’s no level of skill that makes you immune to death while doing it. Bodies are often just left where they are, and for good reason. Unfortunately this is the risk you take when you cave dive.

My mother always screamed at the radio or TV when news about some cave exploration, diving, skydiving fone wrong were on. She always yelled, why did they even to there? Didn’t they have a mother that forbade them doing this stupid stuff?
As a child I always thought she was overreacting but now I see that as a parent she felt for the mothers who lost their children to such accidents.
It’s not without its risks to drive cars on the roads but it’s understandable. Someone needs to gets around for work, commute etc. These cave explorations are purely unnecessary vanity activities.
Adults can choose to pursue whatever legal hobby they want but just because they are allowed to do things it doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.

Seems like maybe some underwater camera drone thing is a better idea first? The tech should be cheaper now, right?

What on Earth is happening there? Obviously cave diving is among the most dangerous activities there is, but 6 now dead is pretty shocking.

The bodies… let’s send more people to die to get the bodies … so barbaric and stupid.
