Luxair lobby too strong.
They have been talking about a speed train from Brussels to Luxembourg for years.
It will never happen…….
Why, Belgium won’t pay and neither will Luxembourg.
Luxembourg government knows that alot of people would rather live in Brussels with cheaper rent and cost of living than Luxembourg and commute. This is turn will reduce demand for housing and lower rental income and asset value for homes here.
This will make landlord voters sad, who then blame the government, and vote a change.
Lux – Paris – London direct. Would be nice.
We already have the Train Big Speed to Paris. There’s talk of a railway Lux to Saarbrücken to allow ICE Lux to Frankfurt. So yes we do and we might get more.
it will happen when the luxembourgish ministry of transportation will cease to be absolute jokes. there is still no trains to frankfurt, brussels or amsterdam, no reasonable public transport system outside of lux city, no adequate motorway system, and no taxi service (most european countries have had taxis since 1920s). the bar is so low that eurostar isn’t even considered
