This time, they managed to get condemnation from basically every government, basically unheard of.

Leaving all other opinions on Israel aside (because such discussions only ever end in one way, regardless of what opinions one has on the matter), from a cold pure political calculus, the manner in which the protesters were treated was a stupid move.

It was an unnecessary blunder that caused friction with many of their western partner nations, and basically handed over a victory to the Gaza flotilla, which has brought attention to this event, exactly what they wanted.

Really, if they are hell bent to stop the flotilla, treating them with kids gloves when stopping (and then deporting) them is the best they can do.

Bragging about the rough treatement of western nationals is **not** a winning move.
