Turkey is a really big country with many cultures and many people. I think the Black Sea regions of Turkey are culturally the closest to Georgians.

Well, we share word Kutu… In Turkish it means box and in Georgian, well, I will let others to contribute.

I knew some Turks, and there are too many similarities in the mentality.
At least we are both semi-dictatorships and the economy is collapsing. 😀

Across the Black Sea region, particularly from the Georgian border to Ordu, I have observed striking similarities in the traditional customs of rural populations.
Beyond these cultural parallels, the linguistic connection is evident in the prevalence of shared loanwords.
While the Ottoman Empire was arguably less severe toward the independent or vassal Georgian kingdoms and principalities than the Safavids or the Qajar dynasty, a profound historical grievance persists in Georgia regarding the assimilation of Tao-Klarjeti, aka, the historical cradle of Georgian statehood which was in modern-day Artvin, Ardahan, and parts of Kars and Erzurum.
Upper mentioned striking similarities that come from black sea area, or regions of Rize and Trabzon were under Roman and Byzantine influence for millennia, meaning the Laz population underwent a process of Hellenization before their eventual Turkification.

have been to Turkey many times, studied in Istanbul. culturally there aren’t many similarities. Only Laz people would be closest to Georgian culture, they speak language similar to Megrelian. otherwise two completely different cultures

Erdoğan is the biggest cultural tie that both countries share.
