    1. EP’s one of the leaders in virtue signalling. A couple of them come every week.

It is known, that Europe does not like the presence of Turkey on Cyprus, but there is no way Turkey is willing withdraw their troops any time soon.

    3. >Lawmakers also urged a quick return to UN-led negotiations aimed at resolving the Cyprus issue. The proposal supports a settlement based on a bizonal, bicommunal federation and backs the continued role of the UN peacekeeping mission in Cyprus, along with the work of UN and EU representatives involved in the process.

It would be cool if someone drafted a bizonal, bicommunal federation plan and put it up for referenda in both communities. Has this been tried before?

Does it call, urge, find disturbing, condemn or even strongly condemn?

Turkiye would never allow the Greeks to go back to their efforts to massacre the minority Turkish population like they did in the 60s and 70s.

I thought Turkey was all about respecting “internationally recognized borders” and avoiding outside interference in internal affairs. Or do those things only matter when it allows Azeris to ethnically cleanse Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh?

      Last week’s news:

      >The U.N. is likely to launch a fresh push to resolve the decades-old Cyprus issue before the term of Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expires at the end of the year, Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides said.
Christodoulides, who represents the Greek Cypriots in talks with Turkish Cypriots, made the comments in an interview on Tuesday night with a local station, Alpha TV.
He told the channel that he had been informed that Guterres was encouraged by discussions he had had with Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan in March.
“We might be close to developments, which may lead to a peace plan,” Christodoulides said.

It seems like there will be another attempt for a resolution. Let’s hope for the best.

Why nobody question the presence of brits in the island?

    9. In 2004, 76% of Greek Cypriots voted against reunification whilst 65% of Turkish Cypriots voted for it.

Why can’t the EU finally just stop trade with Turkey? I think the EU should have a basic rule to cut out all trade with any country that occupies the EU.

At least sanctions to begin with. Crazy how much the EU coddles Turkey.

You are talking in vain; we will never leave Cyprus. In fact, right now, an agreement is being made between Turkey and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus for an underwater gas pipeline. We already provide water support to Northern Cyprus in the same way. Now, gas support will be provided for energy as well.

When Turks were being killed, we told the Europeans, the UK, and America, “let’s intervene together.” Because the people being killed were Turks, nobody cared and nobody helped. Just like they are not helping Palestine right now. Turkey started the operation with its own power. When the operation began, you forced us into diplomacy so that we wouldn’t advance further. Because now, the ones dying were the Greek Cypriots.

We know very well how hypocritical you Europeans are.
