Giovedì sera ho trovato questo uccellino tra le zampe di un gatto, un altro uccello stava piombando in picchiata attaccando il gatto molto rumorosamente, questo è ciò che ha attirato la mia attenzione. Coraggioso uccello! Erano circa le 20:00. KWR non solo ha risposto immediatamente alla loro e-mail, ma ha anche chiesto un video per verificare il tipo di uccello, mi ha inviato un pacchetto di informazioni per tenerlo al sicuro durante la notte e l’ho portato con loro entro le 10 del giorno successivo.
Non fanno pagare, ma chiedono una donazione, che sono stato felice di fare. La prima notte era in pessime condizioni, ma la mattina dopo aveva gli occhi aperti, sbatteva le ali e cinguettava fino al KWR. Il giorno dopo abbiamo dato una rapida occhiata al suo amico uccellino, mentre cinguettava dalla scatola delle scarpe, ma senza fortuna.
KWR ha spiegato che probabilmente aveva comunque bisogno di un antibiotico a causa della saliva del gatto. La signora alla reception è stata di grande aiuto ed è stato accolto mentre stavo compilando un modulo, non appena ha sentito il gatto lo ha portato dentro. 🐥✨️
TLDR; Salvato un uccello. Kildare Wildlife Rescue ha risposto rapidamente e altrettanto velocemente lo ha portato con sé il giorno successivo. 💕

Can agree, had the same experience with them. Had no idea they were right behind Grey Abbey the entire time. Helped me out with advice on a random bat we had last year, getting me on a call on WhatsApp and talking me through what to do. Wish I had a useful skill to help fundraiser for em

That’s lovely, hope they fix the little one up. I’ve had a neighbourhood cat making attempts at my starlings but they were thankfully futile because the cat is a spoiled couch potato.
Cannot speak highly enough about KWR. They’ve helped me a few times with injured birds and trying to help sick wildlife.
So I have a monthly subscription to their patreon as a way of giving back.

A lovely lady has brought us over hedgehogs fr kildaee wildlife rescue to be released.
I actually volunteer there! Indeed, every donation is appreciated especially now that we’re in the baby bird season which is our busiest time of the year. If you are getting rid of towels or bed sheets, those are helpful too as we use those for a bunch of things.
I can really recommend volunteering! You’ll be taught everything you need to know and there’s always someone more experienced to serve as guidance. Helping those little critters is very satisfying!
They sell lovely calendars, I have one hanging in my room and all sales goes to them, the photography of birds and other aninmals in it is class
