Maybe I live under a rock or just way too urban but I have never heard of this

I dont know how effective it is for other things other than just stories they make to sell it.
Totally unnecessary if you just follow the law and read the signs…
It works as advertised, enogh people use it so you get notified if there is something in the road or a patrol.
But i dont really see it being worth it
, just drive legally and safely and it affects your driving very little
It’s also popular amongst those who drive a motorcycle. Because then you get a warning if there is an obstacle on the road. This thing is somewhat popular, I know at least three coworkers who use this thing.
I have one as I have to drive to and from clients every day. Same as you, around 30k km/year. It’s not only used for speed controls and alcohol tests like some other say. Yes that is part of it, but it’s also helpful for when there is an animal in the road or something blocking the road. You get a heads up 20 seconds before, as long as someone else has reported it that is.
Before they used to pay your ticket for you if it didn’t alert you, but they’ve stopped doing this.
I have 0 points on my license and use cruise control to drive most places so it’s not like I have to avoid them out of fear of getting a ticket. I’m just tired of having to blow into the alcho meter once a week so if I see there’s a checkpoint up ahead I’d rather just take a road that drives around them.
