Netherlands, Paraguay a few days ago (at least it feels like it), 3:2 against Hungary 1954
Germany is Germany’d biggest rival.
Noone will pick apart the national team like the people who purport to support it.
But that’s the way Germans generally show support, with criticism rather than blind following.

Biggest rivals: Historically the Netherlands, nowadays Italy and Spain
I would say the biggest victories are the world cup wins, the biggest defeats the world cups since 2018 and the biggest rival are the Netherlands, maybe Italy and England.
Biggest rival people care about is the Netherlands.
Biggest defeat hard to say, nothing comes to mind immediately. The 2002 final really felt more like a victory because of how we got there, maybe the 1986 final, maybe 1966 .
Biggest win has to be the 7:1 even though its not a final or anything just because of the cultural impact it had. Everyone knows where they were when they watched it, its like a positive 9/11.

There are five teams we have lost more matches against than we have won: England, Italy, France, Argentina, and Brazil. Apart from these, playing Holland and Austria it’s very very important we win and in recent years Spain needed to be added.
Our biggest defeat was either losing to the GDR or the draw against Austria in Gijon, biggest victory depending on people’s age either WC90 or WC14.
I’d say Italy and the Netherlands, but probably Italy most of all. But let’s be honest. At the moment, we Germans are our own worst rivals.
Italy
I was there centuries ago during the Great War of 1990 when Dutch warrior Frank Rijkaard spat not once, but twice, at the legendary Rudi Völler, thus accelerating another battle in the war between the great rivals…the Kasetopf nemeses to the North./s just in case.
from a competitive perspective France and Spain are our top rivals, we are a lot less concerned about Argentina, Brazil, Italy (only very recently though)
Emotionally our biggest rivals are Netherlands and recently also Spain
Italy:Germany is Il Classico.
England and Netherlands are close behind, but we are closer to them than to the Italians.
The classic rivals are Netherlands and Italy. England is also a rival but they care way more about the rivalry than we do. France is arguably a rival but this is a rather new thing. I think Austria and Poland also consider us rivals but we don’t care.
Biggest victory: Maybe the final of the WC1954. In recent memory the final 2014 or the match against Brazil in the same tournament.
Biggest defeat: Idk. Probably the WC final 1966 in Wembley stadium.
I’d say that it depends a lot on the person you ask and especially on the person’s generation. For me (30 years old) the biggest rival is undoubtedly Italy and the worst defeat was the 2006 World Cup Semifinal against Italy. The biggest defeat I can remember was a 6-0 against Spain but that was a rather unimportant friendly, so I don’t remember it as vividly as that game in 2006.
The biggest victory historically is probably the 1954 World Cup final. For my generation, it’s still the 7-1 against Brazil. Brazil isn’t really considered a rival, but the whole game was symbolic for how strong the national team was at that time.
Never Brazil. We hate the Netherlands. Special mention Italy.
Rivalry wise it is the Netherlands for us. The dutch hate us for existing since 1945 and we didn’t forget Rijkaard spitting on Völler and Koeman‘s comments.
Otherwise it would be the French, Brazil or Italy but those are more from a historical context with France and Brazil, Italy and us being the three big old football powers. They are more competitive and less emotional.

Biggest victory: many to choose from; I go with 3:2 against Hungary in the 1954 final because that was the most unlikely.
Biggest defeat: 0:2 against Italy in the semi finals in 2006, the German team had it in it to win the world cup.
You need to consider that almost all rivalries exist also for the EMs. Just look up results of Germany deciders and you will know.

One of my favourite football statistics is that all but one world cups between 1950 and 2002 had either Germany or Brazil in the finals, but we never met in the world cup until 2002 (and only played one more time since). So Brazil can’t be the biggest rival.
Biggest historic rivalry is the Netherlands, but that has become less exciting in recent decades. Italy because they always tend to beat us (at least it feels like that), and Argentina because we faced them in finals three times are also candidates. There are, however, many teams that consider Germany their biggest rival: England (probably behind Argentina), Austria, Denmark, Poland etc.
Biggest victory? I would say the 7:1 because nobody has ever seen anything like that, but there are many others. Historically definitely the 3:2 against Hungary in 1954.
Biggest defeat? One of the many defeats against much lower ranked teams that kicked us out of the tournament. Bulgaria in 94, Croatia in 98, South Korea in 2018, Japan in 2022 or Paraguay in 2026 all come to mind. And of course Italy, always Italy… Brazil in 2002 was fine – except for Oliver Kahn, none of the German team deserved to be in that final.
Paraguay
Historically the Netherlands, more recently Spain, but as a late 20s myself I neither envy the spaniards enough, nor am I old enough to have strong feelings against the Dutch. I even cheer for them depending on their opponents.
So right now I don’t think we have a rival, maybe that’s a side effect of not playing at a high level over the last years.

Most passionate is netherlands and on the pitch spain.

Also germany is part of the most one sided rivalry in england vs germany.
Most englishmen i speak to are utterly baffled that we do not care about england at all.
Somehoe every englishmen thinks there is this huge england germany rivalry and their tabloids hype it up as well and germany just dont agree and neber saw it like that.
